March 2022 Updates

Welcome to our March 2022 Cased update! We hope you enjoy this recap of our newest feature, inline approvals, and how much easier and safer it makes production work.

Inline approvals

Cased Shell's new built in per-command approvals add another layer of security and visibility to your production workflows. Your organization can get a better picture into the operations that engineers are running in production— and even better, use fine-grained controls for just-in-time approvals. You can rest easier knowing that you have visibility and control—whether it's database access, or infrastructure changes. Learn how easy it is to configure in less than five minutes here.

Inline approvals allow you to customize who is allowed to run what in production. With settings such as allowing self-approval while on-call, to designating specific commands like terraform apply to be auto-approved, you have complete control over your production systems.

With per-command approvals, you get fine-grained logging about what is being run in production. Not only will your configured Slack channel be notified when someone is trying to run rails console, all access and access requests will be logged to a Cased audit trail.
